About
The game of golf doesn't have to be a mystery. Using film, pictures, drills and more we will work on an individual basis to create a game plan for your improvement. There are many variations in the full swing and short game; as your instructor it is my duty to determine which you are capable of performing and to teach them to you in the most simple way possible. With my experience teaching and playing golf professionally, including playing against some of the best players in the world, I will teach you how to take your swing to the golf course and how to learn to score. I have access to a championship length golf course which we can utilize for on course lessons.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student I will ask them what their experience in golf is and if they have any physical limitations, what their aspirations are, and how often they are able to practice to work towards their goals. I will then watch them hit a handful of shots to see their current swing mechanics. From there I will give them a break down of their swing, tell them which areas need improvement, and begin to work on those areas in an orderly fashion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing competitive golf for 15 years. I have won at the junior level, on the NCCGA, and on the professional level as well. I attended Campbell University's PGA Golf Management school for 3.5 years where I played tournaments every week, and since then have played on multiple Professional Tours and Qualifying Schools throughout the world. I have studied the golf swing for many years and have applied that knowledge to my own game, experimenting in practice and tournaments to refine my game and determine what works under pressure.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching golf as a member of the PGA Golf Management program at Campbell University nearly a decade ago. I began teaching juniors, golf summer camps, and progressed to individual and group lessons.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all abilities and skill levels. I enjoy helping beginner golfers learn a solid foundation for the rest of their golf careers, as well as the subtle refinements necessary for tournament level amateurs and professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently gave a lesson to a former collegiate player who stopped playing golf for many years. He had been working with another coach outside of the country for six months but was having difficulty with his ballstriking and was hitting mostly unintentional pull shots to the left. We worked together for an hour on the driving range, had a playing lesson on the course, and then went over his lesson at the end of the day with him taking down notes to remember. He texted me a few days later telling me that he had just shot 72 on a difficult course in the area, and that his ballstriking had improved dramatically.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to look for a teacher with a relaxed attitude that is able to explain to you the different elements in your golf swing, the causes and effects of those movements, and why they are adding inconsistency to your game. You should be able to understand everything that your instructor in saying, because they should be using specific language to describe your movements. Golf is a science, and although a good instructor is going to simplify it in teaching it to you, you also need to have a good understanding of the moving parts and sequences necessary for improvement.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is important that the instructor is available for the student's schedule and needs first and foremost. Secondly, the student needs to understand what type of budget they are looking to spend for lessons. Golf is an expensive game, but it is also highly enjoyable and has the ability to open doors for any of its players. Finding the right instructor is imperative so that you gain the most information, make the most progress, and enjoy the game to the fullest extent.
