We love teaching everybody, but teaching beginners is what we love the most, because it's so gratifying when you see people enjoying and having fun as they learn how to feel their body and coordinate their movement while the music is playing

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I tailor my teaching style to my students' needs based on their individual physical abilities. While each person has different and mixed abilities, everyone has the capacity to learn how to dance. It's just a matter of working with what you've got to reach a level of adeptness that is to your satisfaction, but still organic and within your reach.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
From an early age, I participated in dance competitions and festivals. When I was of age, I enrolled in the University of Arts of Cuba (ISA), a prestigious art academy in Havana. I graduated after 4 years with a wealth of knowledge in Cuban dances, e.g. Salsa, Son, Rumba, Mambo, Cha cha cha, as well as Afro-Cuban folkloric dances. Since then I've been teaching, dancing, and choreographing for all kinds of events and occasions.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Aside from my hourly rate, I also offer packages of 5 and 10 classes for a discounted price.
How did you get started teaching?
As I was finishing my dance studies at the University of Arts of Cuba in Havana, I began giving dance lessons to tourists from many different countries visiting the island on cultural exchange trips.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've had the pleasure of teaching students of all ages, and all levels, from many different parts of the world.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently taught a group of teenagers and choreographed several dance numbers that they performed during a Quinceañera party. Most of the students had no prior dancing experience. We had rigorous rehearsals for about two months, and the end result was a showstopper, which surprised many of the attendees at the event, and made the parents of the dancers, and myself, very proud.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who can explain things well and clearly, but also makes the lesson enjoyable.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What kind of style do you wish to dance? What is your level of commitment? What are you trying to accomplish by taking lessons? Do you have an event or goal you need to prepare for, or are you just doing this for fun?
