Tyler's Drum Lessons

Born and raised just outside of Washington, D.C., Miami-based drummer Tyler Pons has shared his soulful and energetic playing with audiences since his early teenage years. After his start playing drums in rock bands when living in the Czech Republic, he transitioned to the jazz idiom and developed a uniquely expressive style of playing upon moving back to the US.

I have played many prominent venues across the US, having toured and recorded with artists such as Nep and Nuclear Monkey, and performed extensively with José André, Mathuin Smith and Peter Edelman.

in 2024 and 2025, I was s elected as drum set faculty for the Frost Summer Jazz Intensive, a collegiate-level preparatory program for high school students. I also deliver personalized private instruction in guitar and piano at Sounds of Excellence, supporting early-stage musical development.
