Ryan P. says, "I think Vlad is a fantastic music teacher. Vlad is a patient teacher that covers the lesson materials at a pace that necessitates my ability to digest the material. Vlad is constantly pushing me to take on more challenging compositions, so that I can continue to improve rather than remaining stagnant and frustrated. Vlad is open to permitting me to select compositions from whatever genre of music that I'd like to play. We have played pop music from Phil Collins and George Michael, to film and TV scores like Game of Thrones "Light of the Seven." We are currently working through John Thompson's books and are beginning Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" and "Fur Elise." I enjoy pop music and Vlad is always open for me to pick a Billy Joel composition or "Chariots of Fire." I really enjoy the flexibility to play both challenging classical music, while playing pop songs that I love. Vlad's instructional approach is the same regardless of the compositions we are playing. Vlad is patient and makes our lessons enjoyable. That's not to say they are easy. My lessons always challenge me to grow and improve. We also work on music theory incorporating flashcards and different techniques to learn pieces that I get stuck on. I am an adult student with learning disabilities/ADHD and Vlad has been an excellent teacher. When I first contemplated taking virtual lessons via Zoom, I wasn't sure if it would work for me or if I would get easily distracted and/or bored. However, after months of lessons, I have found that Zoom lessons are excellent and it's as if Vlad is sitting right next to me at my piano. Something else I really like is that Vlad can record the audio and video of our lessons, so that I may rewatch them through the week while practicing. We cover so much information in one lesson that it's easy for me to not pick up on everything Vlad teaches. I highly recommend Vlad as a music professor. He cares and is extremely knowledgeable."
