I have been teaching Tennis for over 30 years.Started playing from I was 11 years old in Jamaica, at 13 was under 14 & 16 Champion, was Junior Caribbean Open Champion.
Competed in Orange Bowl in 1972 Competed in Junior Wimbledon in 1973 Won the Edgar Redwin Sportsmanship Award over several years. Youngest Ever All Jamaica Ladies Open Champion at 15. Also won Caribbean Ladies Open Champion in Singles, Doubles & Mixed Doubles.
Was Coached by Harry Hopman ,traveled extensively on The WTA Tour competing on the "Avon Circuit," in the " French, Wimbledon & US Open Grand Slam Events." Played U.S. Clay Courts as well as Open events in Hong Kong, Japan, Canada USA & Mexico. Promoted the first World Class Women's Only Tennis Event in Jamaica in 1983 with the Jamaican Government. Coach, Captain, & Player of Jamaica's Federation Cup Tennis Team. Nominated for Jamaica's Sports Woman Award over Several Years. First Jamaican & Caribbean Woman to hold a World ranking of #225 in singles. Started Coaching Clinics, Private Lessons with Jim MacDonald in Miami at Kings Bay & then at the Biltmore/ Salvadore Tennis Centers in Coral Gables. Also Coached at Deering Bay Tennis, Golf & Yacht Club in 2005 - 2006...
A Coaching highlight was Creating a Coaching Team for Pro WTA Player Maureen Drake who was ranked close to #200 when we started working with her after the French Open in 1995 till Wimbledon in 1999. During this period she became Canada's #1 & reached her highest World Ranking 0f #47.
Currently I Coach Privately and am Certified by the U.S.P.T.R. as an Instructor & by the U.S.T. A. in their High Performance Coaching Program.
