Hi, I'm Ruby! For the past 10 years, my violin has been an integral part of my life. In that time I've performed as a soloist, a competitive ensemble member, a wedding/event entertainer, and even recorded as a studio musician! I moved to Cape Coral in June of 2021 and started working as a local music instructor that same July. I have experience teaching violin, viola, and cello students of all ages and experience levels. I take a classical approach to teaching, making sure all of my students are proficient in reading sheet music and have an ever-expanding knowledge of music theory. Foremost is we fun in learning all aspects of music. Then next we both have to work to have fun. You as a student will have to practice and I as a teacher will have to work to find music that is fun to play and challenging for you to learn. I have a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from University of Colorado and played with the Kansas City Philharmonic. I am currently the church organist for my church.

I am a music teacher who teaches all styles of piano. My formal training includes an undergraduate and Masters degree in Music Education. My informal training includes over 34 years of serving as a church musician in African American churches. I am also a voice teacher and a drum instructor. I teach my students how to read and hear music using their ear. The foundation of music theory lessons help my students advance quickly.
