Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We first ask where do they want to dance at & what dances do they want to learn? We do not suggest a Samba class if they are dancing at a local VFW & we do not suggest a Waltz if they are going to a latin club. The classes we suggest will be appropriate to their dancing desires. We then ask if they would be more comfortable in a group or private class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified by the NADTA and the NDC.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Group classes are $10 per person.
A single Private class is $69 per couple OR $69 for two couples.
6 prepaid PRIVATE classes are $399 with 4 free dance party passes ( an additional $40 value )
12 prepaid PRIVATE classes are $749 with 8 free dance party passes ( an additional $80 value )
How did you get started teaching?
I have free style danced my whole life but some decades ago while on a Cruise I had the opportunity to witness some True Ballroom Dancers and I was hooked immediately.
What types of students have you worked with?
Our students range from teenagers to octogenarians.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
On April 22, 2018 Cathy and I were married at the sudio and we invited a 130 customers ( some students and some experienced dancers )
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask other students who have used this teacher of their opinion. Beware of the Large Chains as they will exercise tactics to sell you more lessons than you need, want or can afford.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Tell the teacher what type of facility they will dance at and what genre of dance they are interested in.
