About

I have a very strong passion for acting, training, and preparing students for stage and on-camera performances.

I have been acting for more than 50 years and teaching more than 30 years both in Europe and in the USA. This is proof of my absolute passion for this enchanting profession.

I have a Masters Degree in Arts and Drama from the National Academy of Theater and Film from Sofia, Bulgaria (EU).

My very honest and practical approach helps students to learn and develop the necessary skills for their dream profession.

Proud to say my students can be seen performing on TV, local theaters and Broadway. I am one of the first coaches to work also via Skype since I have students in Europe, the West Coast, and even Asia.

I am a member of SAG-AFTRA, Equity, and the European Actors Association.

I love working with all ages, but I especially enjoy developing young adults and kids! The magic of theater is why I have worked so long in this profession, never giving up, despite any hardships.

Inspiring and guiding is what I enjoy most.

My biggest joy in life is to see my students succeed. Several students of mine are starring in Broadway, movies and TV series.

Miss Lilia is the best acting coach I´ve ever had. I reached to her a month before having to submit my application for College Theatre Programs. Despite the short amount of time, we managed to get it all done! She´s a very comprehensive and nice person. She makes the class fun and not so structural, which I think is key for any acting classes.

Ive been working with Lilia for about 8 months now and within those 8 months Ive learned a lot not only acting but about myself as well. She helped me build confidence, dedication, and helped me mentor through obstacles that take place in my future. Ive learned so much like deciphering monologues, enhancing my acting skills, understanding characters more clearly, and the list goes on! She is a great teacher that puts A TON of effort and has a great teaching style that is easy to follow. She really opened my eyes to the world of acting and helping me acknowledge and appreciate it to a much greater extent! I 100% highly recommend Lilia Slavova as a teacher!

I have been working with Lilia Slavova for the last three years, and she is one of the best Acting teachers I’ve ever worked with. I am blessed to have her in my life not only as my Acting coach and Acting teacher who helped me throughout my education at New York Film Academy but also as a friend, which I personally think it’s very important to be able to connect with your students in a way to understand them and know their needs and desires. Her acting approach opened my mine helping me to see the acting world in a different way as well as developing my acting skills. She helps you to believe in yourself, to have the necessary confidence and have a unique acting style. Lilia Slavova is a very professional, passionate, honest and direct person. In our lessons she did not only work on my materials, but she also worked on my accent. She always knows what to do and how to approach her students in a way to get the best from them and show them what they are capable of. I highly recommend Lilia Slavova as an instructor.
    Lilia Slavova, thank you!

I have been working with Lilia for almost two months now, and it has been an incredibly positive experience. I reached out to Lilia because I would like to become a better and more effective communicator. My job requires that I give presentations to individuals and groups, and I am extremely nervous about speaking in public. Lilia has been an incredible teacher and mentor. Her lessons are engaging and informative, and I am learning so much - not just about persuasive communication, but also about how to understand my audience, adapt my message accordingly and prepare for meetings and events. I just signed up for another series of lessons with Lilia, and would. highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their acting and/or communication skills.

    Frequently asked questions

The first meeting is an assessment of skills, talent, and goals. I have a very open and honest approach.  We have a candid conversation about the student's work.

My classes are in person or via Zoom.

Masters degree in theater and more than 40 years of experience in acting and directing.

Most of my students are well-respected performers in theater, TV, and movies.

Some of my students are teachers of theatre, professors in Universities and lectors.

My private lessons are 60 dollars per hour

    For a pre-paid session of 6 classes -300 dollars

I am very flexible with my classes and sessions, as with my pricing. For very talented, promising students  I also offer free coaching.

I have been teaching since I was 18 years old. One of my professors suggested that I assist her in her classes and since she and her students liked my style and approach she encouraged me to direct and teach more.  I did become her assistant while in school and later opened my own studio.

I have been teaching kids from 4 years old to professional actors with serious careers who need coaching.

I have also taught in public schools as a Director of Outreach program in the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area.

I can proudly share the acceptance of two of my students from overseas with whom I worked via Skype to Stella Adler in Hollywood, CA.

First, meet with the teacher, be part of an interview where you both participate in a process to figure his/her method or style of teaching. The teacher should asses your skills and talent and give you a very honest evaluation.

Get some information about the education of the teacher.

Ask about the methods that the teacher believe in and practice.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.
