About

I love using my experience as a competitive collegiate tennis player combined with my formal academic teacher experience to help athletes improve and reach their tennis goals.

I have been coaching and training tennis players for over 10 years. I work with athletes at all levels below the pros.

I use individualized training and lessons to help each student grow in their tennis ability and improve their skills and level of performance.

My individualized approach is not only used in one-on-one sessions, but also in group sessions.

I also incorporate real play when able as that is the best way to practice skills and perfect them to consistency.

Of course, I add in fun catered to each athlete's age and playing level.

I love being a part of helping my students succeed!

Frequently asked questions

With new students,  my first session will take a minimum of 10 minutes discussing what they think their strengths and weaknesses are while we do stretches.

Then we will spend at least 10 minutes to warm up using an activity that either helps with their stated weakness, or let's me further assess their skill level, strengths,  and weaknesses.

Please note: all activities are catered to age level to provide fun and function.

Next we will spend time working on a specific skill that needs improvement for a minimum of 15 minutes but will take more time if needed. This could be the student's serve, learning a new serve,  working on their lobs, volleys, etc. Footwork will be incorporated throughout.

The last part of the session will be spent practicing the skill by playing out games with interweaving tips and mental strengthening.  For brand new beginners to the sport of tennis, this time will include learning the process of a match with age-appropriate exercises.

I began playing tennis at the age of 4, coached by my father who played through college.

I started playing competitive tennis in middle school and played through being on the varsity team in high-school.

I was offered a full-ride to DePaul university for tennis,  but turned it down to attend a school where I could focus more on my academics as that was what I was most interested in at the time.

I played tennis in college as well at a Division 3 school.

I began assistant coaching for a summer tennis camp when I was in high-school.

In college,  I started to give private tennis lesson and truly loved it.  I started teaching tennis to other college students who didn't know how to play or wanted to get better to try out for the team,  and even helped my teammates with skills they were struggling with.

During grad school I worked at a tennis company that taught brand new beginners to the sport,  mostly in the 5-8 year range.  At that time I started to teach other grad students and adults playing on competitive community leagues as well.

Now 15 years later I'm coaching/teaching tennis privately one-on-one and in groups.

Lessons are $50/hour for individual lessons.

For group lessons,  it is only $5 more per each additional person.

So a group of 4 for 1 hour would be $65

A group of 4 for 2 hours would be $115

Depending on skill level or specific things that need to be worked on the price may vary, so please contact to discuss what you want and need so I can provide an accurate cost for you.

I started helping my teammates in high-school and my coach took me under his wing to provide me with more teaching and coaching skills.  It was such a fun time helping my whole team out!

Ages from 4 to 70 and skill levels from none at all to junior-pro.

While I am coaching tennis,  I do enjoy other sports. I was really fond of spending a weekend morning playing golf with my Dad. We hadn't done that together in years and we had so much fun!

Every teacher is different with their own style.  Try out someone and if they don't fit your learning style, discuss to see if they can adapt for you.  If they can't adapt, there is nothing wrong with trying a new teacher.

This is all about YOU, so make sure you get what you need and can enjoy!

What knowledge or skill is most important for you to learn or improve?

How quickly do you want or need to improve those? (i.e. do you have a tryout coming up or a match, tournament, etc. That you need to have it ready for?)

What are you looking for in a teacher/coach?
