About Myself:
- Hello, my name is Abelardo Alvarez or you can call me Abe for short.I have a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology. I have been playing tennis for about 10+ years now and coaching for around 6 to 7 years with many different types of players of all ages and skill ranges going from beginners to advanced. I have worked in groups, semi-privates, and privates during my years of coaching.
Explain your teaching philosophy/experience in a few words:
- I try to make tennis fun and enjoyable for all my clients and at the same time teaching them what is needed to become the best tennis player they can possibly be.
Teaching Style (what are your teaching specialties, what do you emphasize, how do you structure your lessons?)
- My teaching style is different from most coaches. My teaching style changes depending on the client that I have. I do not believe in the phrase that the student needs to adapt to your teaching style. I believe as a coach you should be able to adapt to many different styles that make the client feel more welcome and gives the client the best chance to succeed.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depends on the student. I normally do a "tryout" lesson to see where his skill level might be. Then after words, we work on what we need to work on. On another level, I would talk to the student as well as the parent to find out what goal's the student may have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors in Sports Medience and Fitness Technolgy. I graduated as one of the top students in my class at Keiser University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $40 for a private lesson (if the client comes to me) or $50 for a private lesson (if I have to go to the client). Other prices can be discussed later, for example, adding a personal training, speed and agility, or strength and conditioning, etc..
How did you get started teaching?
I started coaching 8 years ago. I started to notice that this is what I really enjoyed when I was in high school. I was the team captain and tried to help as many people as I can to get better on the team. After the first couple years, I found a job coaching and haven't stop enjoying it.
