What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask the student about their golf history such as amount of experience, scores, frequency of play and practice. I ask about their history of golf lessons. I ask the student about any specific goals for improvement and/or if there is something they are working on at this time. I ask who their favorite golfer is past or present. I ask how much time they have to practice and for lessons. I ask where they play and/or practice.
I ask the student to demonstrate their golf swing and/or hitting various shots for their long game and around the green. I take an initial short video of their techniques for later analysis and comparison.
I ask if they are currently working on some aspect of their swing or skill at this time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified Instructor from the Jim McLean Golf Schools and now conducting freelance instruction. First Tee Instructor volunteer. Producer of the 'Ben Hogan Collection' instructional dvd series and co-authored the book 'The Complete Hogan' with Jim McLean.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Individual lessons are $60 for 50 minutes. Small groups of 3 or less are discounted by 10%. A series of 5 scheduled individual lessons is $250.
How did you get started teaching?
Analysis and teaching experience with professional golf instructors and team mates in high school. Self improvement and swing analysis skills developed over many years including work with Jim McLean on projects.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work exclusively with amateur golfers.

First Tee Tournament at Melreese Golf Club and Miami International Golf Course.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Speak to the instructor and discuss your goals and golf history. Develop a plan for improvement that includes lesson scheduling and practice drills off site.
