Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During our initial coaching session I will take the student to the golf course to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. After playing several holes and hitting full and short game shots, we’ll return to the practice area to introduce the simple ideas and concepts that will match their individual swing, physical ability and personal needs.
During our coaching session, practice drills that provide feedback, understanding and improvement will be assigned.
At the end of the session each student will receive an online personal training space where any lesson notes, swing videos or photos will be chronologically recorded by lesson date.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a Class A Member of the Professional Golfers Association for over 25 years. I am PGA Teacher of Year award winner. Every year I attend and conduct numerous PGA seminars on teaching, coaching and club fitting for golfers of all ages and levels of skill.

How did you get started teaching?
Having played golf at the highest level for a number of years, I realized that I received unique experience and knowledge. Over the years to come, I also developed a passion to help golfers of all ages improve their own golf games.
What types of students have you worked with?
Over my coaching career I have worked with the newest of golfers to one of the most accomplished LPGA Hall of Fame Touring Professional’s. My students range from age 4 to 94.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of our most recent success stories comes from a young lady, age 15, visiting from Canada who wanted to see if she could gain more distance on her tee shots because was playing in a big event in Georgia. By the end of our session she had gained 22 yards of carry and 38 total yards with her driver. BTW, that big event was the PGA Finals of Drive, Chip and Putt in Augusta! She won!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher/coach that teaches the entire game including putting, short shots around the green, full swing, club fitting and course management skills. You should also look for a coach rather than just an instructor. A personal coach will not only help you to understand technical skills but will also help develop your skills through supervised practice, help you transfer your game to the course and finally help you to perform on the course that matches your personal goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would recommend that a potential client have an idea of the following three items before seeking a professional’s help:
1. A clear idea of what they want to achieve.
2. A realistic plan for how much time they can dedicate to accomplishing their goal.
3. A financial budget they feel comfortable with so that the professional can design an improvement plan that is manageable for them.
