St. Lucie Ballet offers the best Pre professional ballet training in the Treasure Coast area. Dancers are winners of Youth America Grand Prix, Universal Ballet Competition, and American Ballet Competition. SLB dancers perform in the most beautiful Nutcracker Production at two theaters. The historic Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce and the historic Lyric Theatre in Stuart. Every spring dancers perform ballet's such as Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, etc... SLB dancers are standouts in Contemporary Dance and Modern Dance as their technique is strong.
All teachers at St. Lucie Ballet have had careers in the dance world. It is our life, and our passion to share this love of dance to the new generation. We share with our students the real challenges and accomplishments of learning ballet technique which is the foundation of all dance. Quality and attention to each childs needs is our specialty.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The student is evaluated then is suggested to the proper class. Registration forms and fees are collected. Uniforms are discussed. Classes begin immediately upon application depending on the time of year.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Co Director Lydia Oquendo has began dancing a the age of 5 and continued her education at New World School of the Arts in Miami and also Miami International Ballet in Miami. Some of the ballet companies she has performed with are Miami Hispanic Ballet, New Century Dance Company, Minnesota Ballet among others. She was Outreach Coordinator and a main teacher at Minnesota Ballet. Mrs. Oquendo has been Co Director of St. Lucie Ballet since 2004.
Co Director Rogelio Corrales has been dancing since the age of 10 and is a graduate of the National Ballet in Havana Cuba. Some of the ballet companies he has performed with are Lexington Ballet, Ballet Juvenil de Caracas, Columbus Youth Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Minnesota Ballet, Ballet Florida, Ballet Palm Beach among others. Mr. Corrales has been Co Director of St. Lucie Ballet since 2004

How did you get started teaching?
Mrs. Lydia began teaching in Miami Fl. in 1995
Mr. Corrales began teahcing in Port St. Lucie in 2004. Before then he had a full and lasting professional career.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice for a student looking to come to our dance studio is to be ready to work hard and focused as we are a serious ballet school.
