About this pro

As a choreographer I travel to various schools and studios to give classes, be it on a permanent, semi-permanent, or one-time basis. I create one-time combos or full-length dances. I create routines for individual performers, competitions, musical performances, and other spectacles. I create dances, combinations, movement routines, for individuals of all ages

I have been choreographing for about 5 years now with extensive experience because of it. I have taught at 1 elementary school, 1 high school, 1 theatre, and 4 middle schools. At Midway elementary school I served as the choreographer for the advanced show choir.

At Indian Trails Middle School, Jackson Heights Middle School, Tuskawilla Middle School, and Millenium Middle School I work as the choreographer for the choir and theatre department. I have also worked as the choreographer for Wayne Densch Theatre in charge of the children's group for the junior musicals.

I am looking to expand my business by booking more jobs and expanding my experience.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I get to know them personally and physically as a dancer, I get them to do some moves to see how they move and dance, to get a feel for what they are capable of, and what they can be pushed to. I take things slowly at first, but I am not a fan of wasting time.

We do some stretching and strengthening, core workout, arms, and legs workout. I go over basic moves to make sure you have a good foundation to start from. I am huge on details, but love to dance.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I began dancing at 7. Since then there has never been a school or time that I was not apart of a dance team, step team, theater group, choir or show choir, or a teaching of the sort.

I have also taken college-level classes of modern and jazz.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge by the hour, but I include many factors to my pricing, themes, amount of students, level, distance, length of the piece and more.

From elementary to middle school age it is 35-40 dollars US an hour for 10-20 kids if this is to be a constant or semi-permanent schedule. Anything older than that is 50 and above dollars US an hour depending on the number of students, I could also give you a quote for the entire number(s). This is for a class setting. Anything in a fitness studio would be charged per student as a one-time fee. Any private lessons and anything else I may not have covered are a case by case rate.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching at 15. I stated at my mother's school (where she was the dance teacher) to assist with her dance team and she brought me in to help (because of my dance experience) and I was hooked after that, I have been teaching ever since. I have since been involved with step teams, other dance teams, theater groups, and show choirs.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for someone that has dedication as strong or stronger than yours. Someone that will put forth the effort, whether it is a spring recital or America's got talent. I prioritize all of my jobs because they are doing the same for me.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Is this person approachable?

Will they push me even when I feel like giving up?

Are they talented?

And overall will I have fun and learn with them?
