Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For beginners, we work on the basics. Rhythm, muscle memory and simply having fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 10 years of experience. I've choreographed wedding dances, provided zumba classes, group dance sessions for birthday parties, family events, bar mitzvah's, family reunions and couples dance lessons at Arthur Murray Ballroom Studio for two years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing for kids: $15 per student
Adult Exercise: $15 per hour
Couples Dance: $25
Wedding, Parties & events: $200+ (Varies)
How did you get started teaching?
We first start our lesson by warming up with a light stretch. Secondly, we go over the basic steps. Next, we work on repetition. We go over the steps repeatedly until it becomes familiar with the students. lastly, we try it with music to see how to combine what we've established. Eventually, we allow the student to try on his/her own to piece it all together.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students ranging from 4yrs. old to 100 years old. We provide dance to just about everyone. We even have seated dancing for those who are bound to a wheel-chair and not able to stand.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have collaborated with a host of programs in both the Orange and Seminole County Public School system. For the past three years, we have orchestrated a number of unique programs based on specific school needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Some advice I would provide to a student when seeking a teacher is to hire someone who isn't too strict. Find someone who is willing to push you but not to the poin where you will give up and hate dance all together.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Questions a student should think about is how will this benefit me. Will this buid my self-esteem? Will this boost my confidence with dancing with someone. Do I have the courage to not give up on something new?
