Ballroom Arts is an Independent dance studio owned and operated by former professional dance competitor, choreographer, coach, and judge Jose Melendez. Coached by world top dancers, competitors and choreographers Jose has over 30 years dance experience that he offers to his students.
Studio has no contracts and offers classes for Private and Group Lessons for pre-teens to adults of any level.
Open practice parties for all students were you will have the chance to practice what you have learned and enjoy sharing your dance experience with other passionate dancers.
Ballroom Arts dance studio is a place where you’re more than a student, you’re a part of a dance family.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First understanding there needs, explaining the process of dance instructions and the benifits of dancing. No two are alike lessons are tailored to each individual.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started teaching?
Training started in 1986 with Arthur Murrays dance studio. Dance has always been a passion of mine, I’ve enjoyed learning, teaching, competing professional division as well as pro-am divisions.
What types of students have you worked with?
Wedding couples, professional teachers, pro-am couples, social dancers, and all levels from new students to advanced professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I’ve always enjoyed training teachers and students alike, continuing the ballroom tradition is a must.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone with a proven track record who is dedicated. Experience is a plus, personality, ease of explaining.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you want out of it? Social, competitive, fitness, or just feel good about oneself.
