About
Greetings wonderful future students! My name is Destiny Renee and I have such a passion for working with children. To me you are all special in your own individual way and I will treat you as such. When working with chilldren, my number one goal is to make sure that you are happy and challenged. I am not an easy teacher by any means but if we set a goal together then I will do everything that I can to make sure that it is accomplished. I feel that my service stands out because I will cater to your needs specifically, I will develop lessons just for your personal growth. The more that I get to know you the sooner I will be able to understand your strengths and weaknesses so that we may improve upon the areas that need work and strengthen the areas in which you already shine!
I enjoy creating long lasting relationships with my students and most importantly helping them to build their confidence in themselves!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know my students first. Meet them, listen to their goals and get a feel for their personality so that I may adjust to their needs. Every child communicates in their own special way, so I want to make sure that I understand exactly what will help them to learn in a safe yet challenging environment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors Degree in Theatre as well as a Minor in Child Development. I have been teaching Children's Theatre since I was a teenager and as soon as I graduated college I went right back to it! I'm currently the Education Director at 7 Stages Theatre in Atlanta.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My base fee is $30 per hour. If the student's location is outside of my 15 mile radius I will charge an additional $5-$10 travel fee.
How did you get started teaching?
As a child I would act at our local community Theatre, then as a teenager I would volunteer at that same location to help out with each production. I fell in love with teaching then and I knew that it would always be apart of my life.
What types of students have you worked with?
As a child I would act at our local community Theatre, then as a teenager I would volunteer at that same location to help out with each production. After college I began teaching theatre at Pompano Beach High school. Shortly after I moved to Atlanta I began teaching theatre to children in Kindergarten through 5th grade with an afterschool program called Drama Kids. I've used the same methods to teach ESL and speech to children all over the world with a program called 51Talk. I've worked as the lead theatre teacher at a massive Boys & Girls Club and I am now the Education Director at 7 Stages Theatre. In a nutshell I've taught hundreds of students from all walks of life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
This past Christmas I was introduced to my new step brothers and sister, that means that my parents are happy and my family is growing. What more could I ask for?
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Know your goals as a student, what do you want to accomplish? Once you know the answer to that question you can make sure that your future teacher is on the same page with helping you achieve those goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think about the type of learning environment they desire and how they learn most effectively so that the teacher can adjust to those needs.
