Theatre means as much to me as numbers do to a mathematician. I love to share my art. Theatre is not only a way for someone to show their talent, but their passion. To help an actor develop their talent is one of the greatest ways I can share my passion and love for the theatre.
I have always been a people person. My friends say I never meet a stranger. Because of this, it’s very easy for me to warm up to a student and determine what they want and need to learn. Getting to know my students and help them in developing their acting skills is what makes this work so rewarding.
Andy makes you feel so comfortable in house lessons. He makes it fun, but he is still serious. I took lessons basically as a hobby and to improve my projection and enunciation. The funny thing was, I got so into it, I had Andy work with me on character development and improvisation. I've, now, decided to audition for community theatre and am looking forward to my first audition next week. I feel very comfortable going into it, too, because of working with Andy. He has great relaxation techniques, too.
Andy is very personable and easy to talk with. He never made me feel anxious or nervous. I really liked the way he talked with me before I started lessons to determine exactly where my interests lay. He developed his lessons around my needs after telling me how we should approach them.
I just wanted some basic lessons in order to feel comfortable auditioning for community theatre. Andy taught me how to develop characters, relaxation techniques and basic improv techniques.
I majored in Theatre and English with enjoys in Dramatic Literature and Performance. I have performed in community theatre and am a professional actor. My professional work includes plays, improv, film, medical education videos for WebMD and commercials.
