Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My teaching process is centered around Michael Chekhov and Sanford Meisner. I do utilize Catherine Fitzmaurice's techniques for breath and voice. Students begin to build characters, immediately, as they work on voice and movement training.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I performed during the four years of my undergraduate studies. I worked on stage and for film and television from 1996 until I began graduate school in 2002. I earned a Master's of Fine Arts in performance from the University of Georgia in May, 2005. Since 2005, I have worked in front of the camera.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching after graduate school. It is a continuous building process for me as I, too, keep working on my craft.

I have worked with children from ages four to eighteen. I have worked with students with special needs. I have worked with adult actors seeking to improve characterization for stage, film, and television.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you're looking to build on your acting skills, character study is crucial. It requires determination, perserverance, and empathy. A successful acting teacher is and has been a successful actor. The city of Atlanta has many people who claim to be acting teachers. I recommend a thorough search of his/her past training and accomplishments.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is your goal? What past training have you completed? What is the next step in order to expand as an actor? How will you accomplish what you desire?
