What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As an instructor I first find out what level they are on and what their goals are. My first lesson is more like a meeting where we discuss the needs of the particular student. I make them very comfortable and give them a lot of information about how the business of acting works in Atlanta.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a professional actor for 40 years and a professional teacher for 25. I've worked with all ages from elementary school to adults. I have a wide range of experience from working in film, television and commercials. And over 100 Directing productions in musical theater, Comedy and dramas.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I try and meet students where they are at financially. Also they can either work in my studio I can meet them at their home or I do online classes.
How did you get started teaching?
I hold a bachelor degree of arts and theater and a teaching certificate in Georgia.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all ages from elementary school to adults. I work very beginners too experienced actors. Are are use multiple skills and theories and methods.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just finished a Charlie brown Christmas at Johnson ferry Christian Academy. Also finished working on a film.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell them to find someone that not only is an actor but also has a lot of experience teaching all ages and backgrounds.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They need to find out their goals.
