The International City School of Ballet is a nationally recognized classical ballet training program in Smyrna, GA. The school, its Artistic Director, Georne Aucoin and its Resident Choreographer and Executive Director, Musashi Alvarez have all received top awards for their outstanding work. Founded in 2004 in Warner Robins, the International City School of Ballet is one of the most respected pre-professional ballet academies in Georgia. Originally established to enable serious young dancers to receive extensive training year-round while also being able to experience valuable performance opportunities, it quickly became a standard of excellence in dance education throughout GA and has generated widespread attention in the dance community as a school that raises the bar.
ICSB offers an individualized training style with small classes proven to elevate every dancer’s training to the next level. Due to small student-to-teacher ratios of 15:1 in our classes, our instruction is tailored specifically to each dancer's gifts and physical limitations. ICSB students come from all over Georgia (metro Atlanta and beyond) as well as other states and countries.
ICSB pre-professional students have also won top awards in some of the world’s largest student and professional ballet competitions such as the Prix de Lausanne, USA International Ballet Competition, World Ballet Competition, Universal Ballet Competition, ADC IBC, and Youth America Grand Prix. ICSB as a school has been presented with many awards from world renowned competitions such as, Outstanding Teacher, Outstanding Choreographer Award, and Outstanding School Award. Students have gone on to professional careers as well as top collegiate and conservatory programs around the US and abroad.
ICSB is also focused on training the younger generation of students who are just beginning their experience with ballet. The Primary and Preparatory Academies introduce students to the art of movement by nurturing creativity, expression and musicality through our award-winning syllabus. Classes incorporate body awareness, motor skill development and foundational vocabulary essential to graduating into the Pre-Professional academy. With a curriculum that incorporates dance with ballet history ICSB is budding the future of dance.
