If you’ve never danced before our Salsa 101 class is the place to start. Whether you’re coming as a couple or have no partner this class puts you on the road to mastering the dance and grooving to this amazing Latin music with anyone!
Hawaii Salsa 101 is the premier salsa dance school in Hawaii, specializing in turning raw beginners into amazing dancers. We are committed to serving Hawaii by providing dance education at the highest level. Our classes are progressive, which means that each student is put on a path that guarantees success in the shortest time frame possible. We believe in teaching very technical, fundamental movements and with every progressive class, building on these skills and growing each student’s understanding through association to past lessons.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Your first beginner (salsa 101) class is free! Wear comfortable clothes and bring socks (in case your street shoes aren't comfortable to dance in) and a water bottle.
Don't be nervous! Class is fun, energetic and supportive!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
You don't need any prior dance experience whatsoever to join our beginner classes Tuesdays 7-8:30pm at 932 Ward Ave 7th Fl (Honolulu Club) and Saturdays 2-3:30pm 1070 N King St Suite 202 (above Palama Supermarket)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
After your first class free, classes are $20/class drop-in or $140 for 8 classes. If you purchase an 8 class pass on your first class free day you receive a one time discount of $20. If you are a college or high school student 8 class passes are always $120 (with valid student ID).
How did you get started teaching?
As dance partners, Emily and Stefan have created Hawaii Salsa 101 and Linda Melodía Dance Company, bringing salsa on2 to Hawaii straight from New York City. They believe in fusing different dance genres with an athletic and action packed style of performance salsa. Their philosophy is that they can give any student the tools needed to become amazing social dancers and powerful performers if they so desire. Hawaii Salsa 101 has created a program that merges the most advanced dance techniques in salsa to guarantee that any student can excel at salsa and have fun on the dance floor!
