I teach students the foundations of rhythm and playing together, keeping it fun and interesting. I meet the student where they are at skill wise and move them forward from there. I bring in a lot of influence of drumming styles from around the world. I have been performing and reaching for over 25 years.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will start by learning solid fundamental playing techniques and learn some starting rhythm patterns so we can begin keeping time right away. You will get some specific practice rhythms to work on in between lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters degree in music and have taught at the college level for over 15 years. I also work with young players.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$20 dollars per half hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I was approached by people that heard me play and then spread by word of mouth.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds if students. Young and old, beginning and experienced, etc.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was teaching as a teaching artist in a school and found out that 2 former students of mine were now teachers at the same school.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find out a little about this teacher. Try an introductory lesson with them and see if you work well together.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I have the time to commit to practice? Do I love music and want to really work at getting better?
