I’ve been living in Mexico for 20 years , Spanish is my first language. i love teaching, I’m patient I realized the only way to learn another lenguage is learning like we do with our first lenguage, no translate just call the things how they are.

I am a passionate Spanish language instructor whose native language is Spanish. I strongly believe that learning Spanish has become a global and professional necessity, just as English is today. Both languages go hand in hand in creating better professional opportunities, personal growth, and economic development. I truly enjoy contributing to the growth and success of others by helping them build confidence, communication skills, and cultural understanding through language learning. Teaching is not only my profession, but also a way to inspire and support people in reaching their personal and professional goals.

Founded in 1996, Aquinas Literacy Center is a nonprofit, community-based literacy center located in Chicago, Illinois. They are dedicated to serving the residents of McKinley Park and other south and southwest side Chicago neighborhoods. Aquinas Literacy Center offers individualized English language instruction, group conversation classes, and computer classes at no cost to students. Their volunteer tutors work diligently to meet students' individual goals through one-on-one tutoring sessions. They strive to create an environment of respect and to advance students' economic, social, and cultural interests.

We offer snacks during resting moments, provide real life experiences to connect to the student and help them better understand the subject matter with visual stimulation. We also like to bring more Spanish speaking skills to children in low income areas and give one on one attention to those struggling with English concepts.

My name is Elizabeth. I am from Lima, Peru. I earned my degree in Social Communications from University of Lima. I consider myself a versatile Spanish language teacher with a passion for foreign cultures. I am committed to doing all I can to help my students understand and speak Spanish effectively. I motivate and guide students by setting clear, attainable learning objectives. I have fun most at all by being myself and also by making connections with students. I truly love Spanish and I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for the language and culture.

All our teachers are native Spanish Speakers. You are guaranteed a staff member that holds a Masters in Education (M.Ed). We can work with students of all ages (adults and children). Spanish is a beautiful language! It is also relatively easy to learn!
