About

I am a one-on-one coach, and I value your personal growth as an actor over everything else. I have a very diverse background in theatre and film, and I provide a very personal and adaptable coaching environment. We will work at your pace and discover what works best for you.

Theatre is my life and passion, and this work allows me to indulge in my favorite activity with a driven individual. There's nothing more exciting than watching someone finally nail the piece they're working on, and I love to see the joy of acting return to students who have been discouraged by past experiences and negative auditions.

It's also continually exciting to see actors produce work they themselves didn't believe was in their wheelhouse.

Paul is AWESOME!! I’ve had the privilege of working with Paul for over a year now, and I feel like I learn something new every time. Not only is he excellent at helping me dive in to the psyche of my characters, but he always has an array of exercises to help me develop my characters and understand their emotions. He’s patient whenever I have off days, and he gently pushes me whenever I need it. 10/10 recommend for anyone who is looking for an acting coach, whether it’s one-on-one, a few folks or whole group!

    Frequently asked questions

I believe that quickly getting to work is the most important way to begin in acting. A new student should prepare a memorized piece, and that is where we will begin. From the beginning, I believe all of my students have talent, and it is my responsibility to aide them in opening up, refining, and growing this talent. We begin with monologue work, then graduate to scene studies, cold reading, and eventually characterization.

I have studied theatre at a collegiate level for four years all-told, have personally performed in over twenty-five productions, founded a theatre company in Connecticut, and produced and directed multiple plays since 2010.

My pricing model is hourly, and begins with 1-hour sessions at $50. However, my pricing is negotiable based on student needs.

I started with speech coaching for high school students, and found myself teaching through directing, and by applying the techniques I use as a director to bring out the realities in my students' acting work.

I have worked with a wide variety of students from high school through experienced veteran actors.

Be sure that you are aware of the teacher/coach's personal experience. My own is limited to acting for theatre and film, whereas others have experience in acting for the camera, voiceover work, and performance art. Make sure you are able to meet with the teacher or coach before a lesson is scheduled to discuss their process and make sure you have a good feeling about them during this interview.

Know what you are asking to be taught. If you are extremely new to acting, be sure to be honest about your experience level. Do not use terminology you don't understand to seem more experienced or serious. The fact you are seeking a coach at all indicates you are looking to grow yourself as a performer. Also, be sure that you know whether you are seeking continued lessons, or a limited lesson plan.
