My name is Darcelle and I am know  as a dance teacher. 

I have graduated from City Colleges of Chicago with my Associate in Arts degree and I hope one day to open up my own dance studio for children and adults with disabilities of all kinds. I love to teach dance to people that is from any different age and any pay rate. I have been dancing since the age of 3 and did the intensive training when I was 4. I had done jazz, tap, modern, hip-hop, and West African, but what I am best at is ballet. I started Pointe at the age of 13. I studied at the following dance schools;  Stairway of The Stars, CSU Dance Team, Russell Tablet Dance Studio, Homer Bryant Ballet and The Hyde Park School of Ballet.  I also taught children at The Chicago Park District Summer Program.  In the past I have taken dance at Columbia College and now I am currently taking dance at  Loyola Chicago College Russell(Pointe)and Joel Hall. Also, I am Assistant Pom Pom/Dance Coach to award winning youth group called Chicago Bear-ette Team.
 My schedule is very flexible also!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I work with student from around the Chicago area. My goal is to make sure they take away prop techniques and have fun when learning to dance.

I have an associate in arts degree and right now I go to Loyola College having a mi or in dance while I just finish dance pedagogy.


How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching when I was a assistant coach with the Chicago Bear-eyes and now I been teaching for 3 years now.


What types of students have you worked with?

5-13 years old


Describe a recent event you are fond of.

my favorite memory was when I taught a Down syndrome girl on how to do her pirouette turn. When she came off the dance floor she gave me hug knew that she nail it. 


What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure it is a person you looking to that you are comfortable with.
