I am a professional ballet dancer with 18+ years of experience dancing with major ballet companies and performing all over the US and abroad. My professional experience includes dancing with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet, the Cincinnati Ballet and with the Victor Ullate Ballet in Madrid, Spain. I have coached many girls for competitions such as YAGP, as well love to give private lessons for students looking for some extra one on one help. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student I will first see if there is anything specific they would like to work on, if not, I will usually start at the barre and see what issues may arise in placement and technique as we go along. Usually then the student feels more comfortable to let me know certain difficulties they may have with each step as we get to them.
I also am happy to sit down with a student who is on pointe to take a look at their shoes.. to see how they fit, show them how to break them in better, and how to sew them to make their feet look and feel the best they can.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained by some of the best teachers growing up at Central PA Youth Ballet as well as training at the PNB School, so I pass along knowledge I learned from them, as well as things I have picked up and figured out throughout the past 30+ years.

Private lessons range from $80-$100 Per Hour. Please inquire for more details.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be that if you are booking a private lesson, that you are a serious ballet student and really want to focus on small details to improve your technique and dancing quality whether it be for a competition, or for auditions, or just to get stronger all together.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It's best if the students know what they typically have problems with or maybe what things they ust are understanding yet with their bodies. It's always great to let me know ahead of time so I can help more efficiently.
