Heather has been dancing for over 25 years, with invitations to train at various classes, conventions and workshops in Michigan, Illinois, California, New York and London. She danced competitively for most of her youth as well as performed in numerous on stage productions, finding her passion for teaching and choreography at a young age.
She has been instructing recreationally and competitively for over 10 years. Her pieces winning numerous 1st place, overall and choreography awards. She is mostly known for her innovative, unique and theatrical concepts.
Previously she owned and directed Inspirations Dance Studio in West Michigan, before moving out to Chicago to pursue more performance and choreography opportunities. Since then she has instructed and choreographed at numerous studios throughout the Chicago land area, was Dance Director at Chicago Performing Arts Academy, and Director of Resilience Dance-Chicago. Currently she is the Artistic Director of Ascendence Dance Chicago, a professional Contemporary Company founded in 2016. Her choreography and performances have been featured at Inaside-Choreography Showcase, Chicago Dance Extravaganza, Carnival:Choreographers Ball, Mixtape, Dance Chicago-Dance Slam, Dance Chicago-New Moves, Followspot, FreeSpace, Charlotte New Music and more! Her other credits include dancing on The Big Red Boat cruise lines and in the movie “Tug”.
