About

In addition to my work as a director I provide individual and group lessions in theater performance and improv. I work with students of all ages to make their work more dynamic, think outside the box, and build strong, interesting charcters. I draw from my years of training in improv, Viewpoints, Stanslavski’s method, classical theater (including Greek, Shakespeare, and others), and physical theater to help provide individualized lessons to bring out the best in my students. I also help with memorization techniques and basic vocal exersizes (projection, diction, tempo, basic dialect work).

I love it when my students discover abilites that they never knew they had and create work that is more dynamic and exciting than we ever thought possible. I am constantly amazed and inspired by the work my students produce and I constantly learn new things about humanity.

Frequently asked questions

When I first meet a new student I access their abilty, through self reporting and by having them perform a monolouge and an improvised exercise. I then build my lesson from there.

If we are only meeting one time, I will base my lesson on self reporting and any videos of performances they might have.

I have a B.A in theater from the University of GA where I took classes in performance, directing, and teaching.

I am a graduate of Second City and I.O’s improvisation programs. Additionally I have taken workshops in directing sketch, film, and theater as well as teaching and performing specific theater styles.

I typically charge 30/hr for private lessons, however sliding scale and group rates are available.

I have worked with a variety of students of all ages and all abilties from pre-k and kindergardeners just learning about the world of theater to professional actors with years of experience on screen and stage, and everything in between.
