My 501c3 dance company, Major Motion Dancers, performed by invitation at the Florida Citrus Bowl, Florida Orange Bowl, Indy 500, the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Parade, at Pearl Harbor, at Fort DuRussy Park, and at the Waikiki Shell.
Students have gone on to work at Disney World, on tour with the convention circuit, in professional ballet and modern companies, owning their own dance studios, and working in the industry from New York to LA.
I have owned and operated MSOD for 35 years and have a Master’s Degree in Dance Education. I am also a retired schoolteacher that taught 35 years in the public school system.
At Major School of Dance, we are more than a dance studio, we are a familiy.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students immediately feel welcomed at Major School of Dance. We offer studio tours, meet the teachers and a big sister/big brother to include the new student. We place students according to age, experience, attention span and skill level. Teachers work with students on a skill & listening base in order to move students up and often evaluate a student's progress. At Major School of Dance, we're more than dance, we're a family.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Experience, experience, experience. The retired owner held a masters degree in both dance education and education. She trained our current teaching staff who bought the studio from her in 2019. Our current teachers have more than 15 years of dance experience and have been teaching since 2014. The new owner danced for 18 years and the last 4 years competitively.

1 class per week = $40
2 classes per week = $75
3 classes per week = $95
4th & 5th classes are FREE
Unlimited students enjoy all classes for only $105 per month.
How did you get started teaching?
Our teachers were first assistants under the owner of the studio and were trained for 3 years hands on in studio. They also maintained dance and assisting for 3 years prior to taking on their own classes. Now, our teachers dance, train and teach students along with choreographing their own dances and running a successful dance business.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our students have performed at the Orange Bowl, The 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor parade, they have danced at the Bowfin site for surviving military that fought in Pearl Harbor and have been invited to the 90th anniversary Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
