About
I have been a studio owner, artistic director, teacher, private coach and guest teacher for 40 years. I teach and direct training programs for dancers pursuing professional and colleges careers. I guest teach for professional companies and private studios.
It has been my pleasure to have trained young men and women enabling them to dance professionally. My students have attended professional summer school, many on scholarship and many had professional performance careers. I am very passionate about the quality of dance education and preparation for my students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I check for proper alignment and execution of exercises and ability to receive corrections. My classes are always positive. I give a challenging class without humiliation. Dancers need to be challenged and not fear taking class.

How did you get started teaching?
Began teaching in 1983. Faculty and Artistic staff for, St. Ambrose University, City Center for the Performing Arts, Vine Street Ballet, Peoria Ballet, Riverpoint Ballet, Houston Ballet.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have trained dancers pursuing a professional career, college dance degree and recreational dance. My dancers have studied on scholarship with S.A.B., Houston Ballet Academy, P.N.B., San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Orlando Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Joffrey New York, A.B.T., Dance Theatre of Harlem, N.C.S.A. l have professional dancers working for Houston Ballet, P.N.B., Pittsburg Ballet Theatre, Orlando Ballet, Ballet Met, Ballet Idaho, Louisville Ballet.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
While teaching in Houston I attended Houston Ballet premiere of Sylvia. The production was beautifully choreographed, costumed and danced.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Apply corrections.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I understand how my body works as I take class? Do I understand how to take and apply corrections. Do I understand the career I'm pursuing.
