Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start everyone out with an introductory program. This consists of 2 private lessons, 1 group class and 1 party. This is primarily designed to let people try a week of dance before deciding how they'd like to continue and what they want to focus on. From there, we offer 2 different beginner programs. Should someone wish to continue further, then we customize a program that specifically focuses on the dances they wish to learn and addresses their needs as an individual or a couple.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our staff members come from an extensive and diverse background in dance. We have been dancing for over 30 years and teaching dance for up to 17 of those years. All staff has had substantial experience in competing, performing, teaching and is trained and certified in a wide variety of dances.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with a wide variety of people. We have taught individuals of all ages. Anywhere from 4 years of age up to 84. We also teach people from a variety of backgrounds. Teachers, doctors, lawyers, accountants, mill workers, retirees, youth/children, special needs, couples, singles etc... you name it, and we've probably taught someone within that group. Dance is for everyone!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't wait, don't hesitate and don't let fear or reservation keep you from getting fun and fulfillment out of life! Everyone has reservations, but the hardest part is getting through the door. Once you get started, you'll wonder why you waited.
