Learning with Daniel as a teacher has not only been highly productive but also very fun and interactive. By using many different supports (movies, newspapers, plays, books and reviews, debates, etc.) and challenging you on various topics (wide scope, from headlines all the way to society issues) he helps you bring your communication skills to a level close to native speakers. To recommend by any means. Also worth mentionning: he’s a greatbperson to be around.
I first assess the level of English profeciency of the student and if they are a complete beginner I begin with objects in the room by asking yes, no, and either or quesions while mirroring support for the student. Next I try to learn what it is that the students hopes to accomplish and try to come up with a mutal plan which we can go back to at a later date to see how we are progressing
I've been teaching since I was fourteen years old; swimming, ESL, and acting. I was a theater major in college communications minor. In my theater studies I've learned how to develop my ear and eye to spot what a person needs to develop and muscle patterns it takes to pronounce the English Language. I started as an ESL instructor in 1990 at Berlitz Language school in Manhattan where I was taught total immersion technique. Since then I've taught at several schools as well as my private classes- including a four month time teaching in Sao Joao del Rey in Minas Gerais Brazil. I've been awarded teacher of the year three times in my school organizations.
