I love seeing the excitement of our dancers as they get ready to perform for the first time in front of friends and family. Their smile are priceless.

How did you get started teaching?

Fallon Coleman has a passion for dance, which started back at Indiana University Bloomington where she was the director of the IU Essence Hip-Hop Dance Team. Through her leadership, IU Essence won three first place trophies in the Hip-Hop Division for the Indianapolis Star Quest Competition.  After graduating, Fallon began training in Latin Rhythms at Into Salsa Dance Studio. Fallon took a break from dancing to pursue her law degree at IU McKinney School of Law. In 2009, Fallon became a Certified Zumba Instructor. With dance as her passion, she danced with several Latin Dance teams before deciding to venture on her own. In 2015, Fallon became the franchise director of Alma Indianapolis. Wanting to touch more lives and share her talent, Fallon expanded to start Alexander Coleman Dance Company, which also includes an advance Mambo team Las Bravas that learns intricate choreography by Paulina Posadas.

What types of students have you worked with?

Alexander Coleman Dance Company works with students from age 6 to 55. Her company has diverse ethnic backgrounds including dancers from Turkey, Russia, Columbia, Trinidad, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and America.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

The 2017 Las Vegas Salsa and Bachata Congress was amazing! We had 10 dancers from Indianapolis to travel and perform on one of the biggest stages and in a scene that bring renowned professional Latin dancers. We performed during the Friday evening and the afternoon Saturday shows.  Director Fallon trained 14hour with Tropical Gem to put on a show during the Sunday evening performances. The training and the camaraderie was memorable!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Try out a class or sit in on a class to see if the style of dance and instruction fits your individual needs and wants.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Teachers should be open to any questions or concerns. The student should never have a problem approaching any teacher as we are here for you.
