Hello, my name is Steve Murphy, and I'm a piano teacher living in Indianapolis, Indiana. I teach all ages of students. My style of teaching is very personal, and I try to accentuate a students natural talents as they learn and grow in music. A piano student is encouraged to practice each day and to perform at least twice a year at a recital. I perform and teach all styles of music including pop, jazz, and classical. I'm a classical violist that has been teaching violin and viola lessons to all ages for over 15 years. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Music from Butler University, received a Master's of Music from the Hartt School and an Artist Diploma from Yale University. I am a certified Indiana State School Music Association judge and my students have received medals at the regional and state level.
