About
With my services, you will learn all of the fundimental techniques and principals of the bass guitar.
In addition, my students will also develop the following skills with my instruction:
-Improvising of bass lines
-The recognition of modes and intervals by ear
-How to be the bass player EVERYONE wants in thier band
I have been playing and studying music since 1993. Since then I have played blues, classic rock, southern rock, soul, motown, classic r&b, reggae, bluegrass, jazz, country, hip hop, hard rock, and punk rock. My students will also gain the same skills to apply thier talents to those genres as well.
Music, to me, is a universal language that sees beyond demographics and lifestyles. It brings all walks of life and cultures together in a harmonious way that allows us to express ourselves openly. Music also teaches us how to be open minded to concepts that may have been overlooked otherwise.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I determine thier current skill level and knowledge of thier instrument. I usualy keep to no more than 2 concepts at time, only allowing them to progress to the next step when they have mastered the current one.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had several instructors (and still do!) throughout my career teaching me right and left hand techniques, music theory, sound engineering, and equipment maintenence.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rates are $85/month. You will recieve 4 thirty minute lessons. In addition to personal one on one instruction, my students also have the option to participate in live concert events with other students throughout the year.
How did you get started teaching?
I realized that I should focus on instruction when I noticed the rest of my bandmates and friends, who also played kept asking me questions such as: "What key is this song in?" or "How do I play a (insert chord here)?". Other bass players were also also asking me how I developed my own personal style and sound and wanted me to help them do the same thing for their playing.
What types of students have you worked with?
Most of my students are beginer to intermediate. I have however, given seminars with advanced players as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
This year I have been interviewed on FM radio several times, performed on television, and been part of a national music event.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find an instructor who can adapt to your learning style, plays in a way you aspire to play, and can teach you how to apply their concepts in everyday situations.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do you want to be able to compose your own songs or would you rather learn to play the songs you hear on the radio?
Are you able to commit a minimum of 30 miutes a day towards your studies?
