I have been a professional bassist and singer for the past four years. I have a Masters degree in music education and a bachelors in jazz studies upright bass. I have taught in the public school system and privately.

My true love is Jazz but I can help any student find his or her true voice and help any bassist understand how the instrument works in any style.

My knowledge doesn't come from books only but from what I learned on the bandstand with musicians who helped me and coached me. Listening is the most important aspect of learning how to make music.

I love sharing the art of making music and pass down what have been passed to me. Music can heal the world and unify people who speak different languages. Learning how to make music is a demanding task but it can be done one day at a time with love and diligence.

Frequently asked questions

I ask and you student what is his/her favorite style of music. This person will bring me a piece of music that they would like to sing or play. I will first check if they sing in tune. For bassists, I would first check the way they hold the instrument. Some students are not interested in learning how to read music. It is fine up to certain point. I think learning how to read helps but it is not a prerequisite.

I have a Masters degree in music education and a bachelors degree in jazz studies on the upright bass.
Also I traveled playing electric bass. I currently play and sing in diverse bands between New Orleans and Chicago.
