With an MFA in Acting from the University of California at San Diego and over 25 years of experience as a SAG-AFTRA and Equity actor, I’ve taught acting in contexts ranging from Acting on Camera and Scene Study to Linklater, Viewpoints, and Shakespeare. The breadth of my training and experience has equipped me to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced-level students. My active engagement with the professional community and an ongoing commitment to learning new skills are assets I bring to my coaching process.

I’m currently an associate professor at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, an affiliated faculty member at Emerson College, and co-founder of Acting (Actually), a service for student and veteran performers to connect with working teachers and coaches across the country. I’m proud of my work nationally in tv, film, theatre, and voice-over, and enjoying sharing what I've learned with my students.

With a finger on the pulse of contemporary movements in the entertainment industry, I aim to train my students toward the present and future reality of the business. My teaching fuses traditional techniques with modern innovation, to help actors evolve and prepare for the ever-widening world of stage, screen, and new media performance. As a private coach, I support a wide range of emerging artists through rigorous BFA and MFA applications, and work with professional actors on auditions for everything from on-camera commercials to musical theatre.

In this effort, I’ve long prioritized inclusion and mentorship for under-represented artists, particularly in light of our industry’s poor history of awareness on issues of diversity. As such, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, consent-forward practices are the foundation of my approach to teaching.

From conversations about acting programs, casting directors, unions, contracts, and the changing industry, to mock auditions & crucial tips on how to succeed on the job, I want every artist to reach their highest potential. I consider myself a dedicated empath, who chose the performing arts because of its unique power for bringing us together. Here's to continuing that daily work; in the meantime, thanks so much for your consideration!
