Through a focus on dance education, CSDS has grown into Melrose’s premier Dance Studio that holds itself to a standard of excellence both in training and education. We offer a wide variety of classes for all ages and a creative learning environment that allows students to grow and flourish in dance and in life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students typically enroll for dance class between August and November 1st. The dance season last 33 weeks, and there is an annual recital each June. Students are placed in dance classes in the genre of their choice based on a combination of age and level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Donna Leonard and Christina Leonard-Kristan are the Directors of Center Stage Dance Studio. Both members of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston with the American Society, they have attended countless DTCB meetings and workshops. Donna served on the Advisory Committee of the Dance Education Training Course with DTCB for many years.
Donna and Christina themselves are graduates of the Dance Teacher Training Course and have sponsored many of their own students to complete the program each year. They have fostered a dance environment that encourages many to further their dance education in college, and in some cases, pursue a professional career in dance.
Our distinguished and well-qualified faculty includes graduates of respected institutions who hold Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees. Donna and Christina are involved in every aspect of your child's dance education at CSDS and oversee the progress and curriculum being taught in the classroom on a regular basis. Their collective years of experience in the classroom make CSDS a smart, safe, and reliable choice for your child's dance education, whether it is for a recreational class that meets once/week, or for the disciplined serious dancer who will be guided each step of the way through their journey at Center Stage Dance Studio.
