Voice Lessons
About
I help students to build their vocal technique so that they can sing with ease and confidence. Some of my students are just starting out, others are experienced, and still others are returning to singing after a long break. I also work with people who are recovering after a physical or medical problem has affected their voice.
I particularly like working with older adult amateurs. They can often improve tremendously, and I enjoy helping them realize their full potential.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1) Ask the student all about their experiences with singing, and ask what their goals are.
2) Have them sing a few scales.
3) Give a few tools to help the difficulties that present themselves.
4) Present my method in detail, and describe what lessons are like on a week-to-week basis.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two certifications from the McClosky Institute of Voice (www.mcclosky.org). There I studied technique, pedagogy, and vocal disorders in depth. This helps me to target the difficulties a student may be having and give them specific tools.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
One hour = $60
45 minutes = $50
half hour = $40
How did you get started teaching?
I began my career as a pianist, and whenever I would accompany a singer, I would think a great deal about how to help them. The McClosky Technique proved to be a systematic way to help all kinds of singers, and I found it fascinating and rewarding!
