On stage since 11 Robert Bongiolatti has been involved in acting and directing theatre for more than 25 years. Having spent a career in the Northwest corner of Litchfield, Rob has worked with both community and professional theatres. With a focus on auditioning, character development and improvisation Rob has had an opportunity to work with and direct many individuals who perform regularly in regional and national theatres including Broadway! Rob has also taught drama at several school systems throughout Connecticut!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Get to know each other and understand the students goals and aspirations in theatre. Design an individual plan to help reach the goals. From basic to advanced theatre.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BS Science in Commhnications and minor in theatre from Southern CT State University. 20 years in community and professional theatre.

Started directing theatrical productions in college and continued throughout my adult life.

Children in primary school through senior citizens.

Directed South Pacific at Thomaston Opera House.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You need to find a teacher that you connect with and provides you with the tools to reach your goals. Not every teacher and process works with all students. If the teacher is not flexible enough to work with you, then find someone who is!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is it I want from the lessons? What are my strengths and weaknesses as an actor/actress. What should I work on to make my auditions more memorable to production staff.
