Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Finding out what they enjoy and are interested in musically, realizing where they are in their skill set, beginner, intermediate or advanced. What gear they do or don't have and whether they plan to invest in equipment or not (usually that's a yes). I like to find out a ball park of what they do or don't know about counting/reading and playing, basic experience then start a plan from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a professional singing - drummer of 38 years, studio and live experience. Traveled all around the world touring with International acts as well as teaching over 28 years. With drum corps, orchestra, marching band, concert band, rock, funk, jazz, country, latin, dixie land jazz, new orleans style funk and much more experience in styles, I have a very well rounded education for teaching drums. I enjoy teaching people to get in touch with their own rhythm and enjoy being around kids.
