I love teaching acting to those who are looking to hone their skills on the stage. I spend one on one time with students helping them with audition pieces and current roles, or those looking to learn about acting. I have been teaching acting for over 15 years now using my experience from casting, directing, and acting for over 30 years.

I have been the resident director of the Leeds Theatre for 12 years in Birmingham Alabama. I have directed in almost every theatre in Birmingham including LJCC, South City, and ACTA. I have performed in Savannah, Georgia and Birmingham, Alabama on many stages. I had the opportunity to work with Charles Strouse in Savannah, Georgia on two of his shows.

I love the theater. And love acting and teaching it. It's my passion.

I am an award winning director and actor from the State of Alabama having won Best in Show for "Agnes of God", "Echoes", and "Rabbit Hole." I have led 6 actors to recognition as Best Actors at our state and regional competitions. I have also won awards for Best Set and Costume Design.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I want new students to either bring an audition piece or I will provide a piece for them to perform. We can assess the level and need at that time. We will either work on technique and the process of acting depending on the skill level.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was the resident director of the Leeds Theatre for 12 years involved in all aspects of the process and production. From casting, staging, directing, lighting, set building and decoration, to overall production.

I worked with the Savannah Theatre Company and trained under some great directors in my 7 years of time there. I eventually started directing at the end of my training in 1999.

I have also worked with Charles Strouse and Barbara Simon as an actor and stage manager in two of their productions in Savannah Georgia.

I have been acting and performing since I was 16 years of age.
