Servin' It Up Tennis Lessons & Clinics
About
I've been helping beginners and intermediates learn and develop their tennis skillsets for 30 years (on and off). I find it gratifying to teach tennis to kids and adults who are at these levels because
* I'm an excellent communicator and love breaking down complex techniques and skills into bite-sized, easy to understand steps
* I'm very patient, empathetic and encouraging
* I love seeing the excitement of my students as they make progress and learn to enjoy tennis
My background: I've taught both private lessons and group clinics professionally at
* tennis clubs
* country clubs
* and oversaw a junior inner city program, in which I also managed five junior pros for the Baltimore Tennis Patrons.
Off the court, I'm a full-time educator and writer who's trying to leave the world a little saner and healthier.
If you're a beginner or intermediate level player who wants to learn this life-sport or improve at it and values top-shelf teaching, then we might be a good fit.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If you're interested, please email me, and I'll probably want to have a quick phone call to get a sense of your level and, most importantly, your wants and needs--what you want to get out of your tennis lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained under two of Baltimore's most successful and beloved tennis professionals a while back.
Most of my education in teaching tennis has been from teaching with other seasoned pros--borrowing from their style and approach that seemed to jibe with my own teaching philosophy. And I've learned how to be a better teacher from my students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Typically, I charge $50 per private lesson.
On average, clinics cost between $25-$30 per person, per session, depending on class size.
