Heidi Kerring, Acting Coach
About
I have been acting since I was a kid! But it was 16 years ago that I found acting for the camera, and it was a new form of art that I fell in love with.
Having studied with top acting coaches in Orlando, Los Angeles, Australia, and Baltimore, I am very knowledgable in many different forms of acting. I have also helped coach many of my friends and children for their auditions and roles.
I have extensive knowledge being on a professional set and how to push forward with your acting career even if you are just a beginner!
Besides acting, my other passion is teaching and I studied elementary education in college.

I love watching the actor blossom in their craft and confidence as the learn to better understand how to interpet their character and the script.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It all starts with a sit down conversation to get to know each other. I evaluate the students previous experience and credentials so that I know where to begin in their coaching process.
I then need to have the student read a scene with me, as well as a monologue, so that I can appropriately coach them based off of their comfortablility with a script.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
meisner, cold read, audition technique, comedy, IMPROV, sitcom, soap opera, film, TV, theatre
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$55- 60min

How did you get started teaching?
Coaching my friends and child actors.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types! From ages 5 and up.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look at their resume and where they have been taught. I use me old notes from the classes I have taken to teach. Acting classes are much different and more elite in Los Angeles than they are in other areas. Also make sure they have actual experience on set (not just extra work).
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
