About

Hi there! I am a voice and piano teacher located in Ann Arbor, MI. I have a bachelor's degree in vocal music education from Oakland University in Rochester, MI and have taught privately for 8 years. I am a mezzo-soprano and my favorite genre to sing is opera and art songs! (classical music). I am new to Lessons.com, so I currently do not have reviews, but can provide references upon request. I have taught over 500 students over my years teaching!

My focus and whom I have the most experience with is singing lessons for young women ages 12-18. I enjoy helping them to grow their voice using breathing, breathe support, tonal focus and throat opening techniques to achieve their ideal tone quality and most beautiful voice. I utilize classical singing techniques, that are proven and researched backed. I have also taught and instructed students in musical theatre.

I am open to and have taught children, male singers as their voices change, and adult singers before. I have also taught contemporary singing as well.

For piano - I enjoy teaching children and adults ages 4 and up in piano methods, going up to an intermediate level (sonatinas, scales, arpeggios, etudes, etc.)

For both piano and singing, I encorporate some sight-reading and theory. I can also tutor in music theory.

If you or your child are looking for an empathetic and kind teacher, who is equally focused on technique and skill building, whist instilling a lifelong love of music, I am the teacher for you! I am highly commuicative, and will teach your child practice methods to do at home between lessons.

My philosophy of teaching is that I believe all people come in with their own skills, ideas, passions and experience in music. My job is to mold what is previously known and build upon it. As in, I will meet the student where they are, help and scaffold their learning, so they can grow without frustration.

I hope to meet you!
