Chinese Folk Dancing
About
Although I am just trying to start out I feel I have a lot to offer our communities. My goal is to teach different Chinese ethnic dance styles and Chinese Han dance styles to the best of my abilities.
I love seeing people happy and I just really enjoy sharing the things I know and talking about dance in general! It has been my passion since I was in high school.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first see what prior dance skills they may have and try to work with them to the best of their own abilities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied dance in Hunan, Changsha during one year of high school. I also studied for two years in Jiangsu, Nanjing Gulou district's Nanjing University of the arts.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No, because I am just starting out.
How did you get started teaching?
Friends showed interest in my dancing so I started trying choreographing my own dances based on my experiences. I still have a lot to learn myself but we all ended up getting better in our own ways.
What types of students have you worked with?
College students and elementary school students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
There was suppose to be a Chinese New Year event in WSU that I was taking part in, it was going to be my first time performing a dance I made.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
To make sure they are actually willing to teach you and not just take your money. Many of the teachers who do teach my style of dance here are also not trained to be teachers... like me they are simply performers/decent dancers that wanted to share their knowledge. However, just because someone is a good dancer doesn't mean they are good teacher... so I just making sure they have the willingness and patience to teach you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should consider what the capabilities of their bodies are and what they are physically able to improve on. They also express if there are any pains in their bodies that could cause serious issues.
