Pharaoh is an amazing and supportive teacher who helps us amazing with resources from books to the chance to meet people involved with the acting industry. He has created a wonderful group of people that I love learning with and encourages us to look at many aspects of the industry, effectively helping us cultivate and refine our skills in acting while also giving us an understanding of what it really means to be an actor.

Ive been working with Pharaoh for a few months now and I love every second of class. I was very nervous at the beginning but hes always made me feel comfortable, was accommodating to my schedule, and makes the most out of the time in class. He offers professional advice and genuinely cares about your growth/goals as an aspiring actor. Not only has he taught me acting techniques, but has also introduced me to many great playwrights and provides the educational background required for the field. I wasnt sure if acting was something I wanted to commit to before I started taking his classes, but his passion for his craft has inspired me to want to continue and challenge myself. He is an amazing actor himself who wants to help his students succeed and the amount of support he gives is hard to find elsewhere. He goes above and beyond the expectations of an acting coach and I highly recommend him!

Im having a great experience so far working with Pharoah. He does a good combination of emphasising acting concepts with acting skills. As a complete beginner, he makes me feel comfortable and helps me get out of my comfort zone. I highly recommend him for any level actor.

Mr. Muhammad is a very passionate, patient and talented instructor. I have just started lessons with him and I’m already impressed. He really loves what he does and you can see that through his teaching. He genuinely wants you to succeed. His lessons are fun, engaging and entertaining. His lessons are VERY affordable and reasonably priced. Being a beginner actor, I was very nervous but he is very patient and he encouraged me from the very first time I spoke with him. I look forward to each week with true excitment! If you are looking for an excellent acting coach, I highly recommend Mr. Muhammad. He is your guy!

I am VERY PLEASED with Mr. Muhammad as my acting coach and instructor. He is talented, very knowledgeable and skilled from his years of experience and it shows during each session. He is very patient with me (a beginner) and this is something I appreciated from the beginning. The sessions are fun and engaging and I look forward to attending each week. Whatever your goals are and no matter what level you are (beginner/seasoned) if you are looking to improve any of your acting skills and go to the next level, Mr. Muhammad is an outstanding instructor!

Frequently asked questions

I initially give a new student the comfort of knowing that their experience with me will be one of no shame. There will never be any such  thing as a wrong answer or dumb question in my class.

I carry a B.F.A. from Wayne State University,  I'm an alum of the prestigious Second City improv Theater, I've worked with very talented actors including Rico Bruce Wade (Detroit Second City,  Michigan Actor's Studio) Antoine McCay (Empire) Keegan Michael-Key (MAD TV, Key & Peele) comedian Dick Gregory and a host of others.  I also continue to study this craft by attending workshops and webinars led by casting directors like Amy Jo Bergman.

My standard price for instruction is 30.00/hr. If the student determines that he/she desires more frequent instruction,  then an affordable monthly plan will be implemented.

I started teaching in the late 90's. I initially coached spoken word artists on delivery,  tone and projection.  Eventually I was asked to offer performance workshops throughout Detroit! It was at that time I decided to coach acting as well.

I've worked with beginners who were afraid to speak in public and stage actors who I helped direct in plays and various performers.  I'm comfortable with anyone.

One of the actors in a play that I'm currently helping to direct said in a radio interview how much better she feels in her role and how much more comfortable she feels breaking down her character as a result of working with me as her instructor and the feedback she gets from the other students as well!

Be careful of any teacher that seems motivated by how much you're willing to pay them!! Yes, this is a business but money should never be the driving force behind cultivating new talent!! Secondly,  make sure the teacher truly takes a vested interest in seeing you fulfill YOUR goals and ambitions!

I think each student should determine whether or not their teacher is trustworthy enough to even field questions concerning their needs.
