Drum Lessons With A Qualified Female Tutor

My name is Amy and I have over 10 years experience as a music tutor in schools as well as privately.

I have a Higher Diploma in music and drum performance from Detroit Institute of Musical Arts and can teach technique, styles & rudiments.

I have previously facilitated free drum workshops for beginners, and have taught groups of up to 20 people the basics of drumming within a matter of hours.

All styles taught, but I specialize in rock, alternative, pop, punk, hip-hop, afro-beat & heavy music.

All ages and abilities are welcome - I can teach absolute beginners through to more experienced drummers looking for a fresh approach to the drum kit.

My lessons cover everything you need to achieve your drumming potential and are tailored to suit each student's individual needs, this can include:

Stick control, foot control and applied technique

Styles and musicianship

Independence

Timing and groove

Fills

Reading/interpreting by ear and writing notes for performance

Rudiments

I can also give advice on equipment, joining a band and anything else drum or music industry related.

Lessons take place mainly in one of my North Detroit based studios, but I am willing to travel to student homes if they have the appropriate equipment to facilitate the lessons (travel costs a little extra).
