Amy B. says, "I really enjoyed the recitals and the gold cups. It was always nice to be rewarded for hard work! Overall, I know that the Suzuki method really helped me advance quickly because I was always more advanced than my friends taking other lessons. Knowing that I was actually good at something was the biggest motivation.
I loved the Suzuki music! I still go through the last few books when I have the chance. I think the structure of the program and variety in music was excellent.
Through high school, I was self motivated because I was able to pick pieces I wanted to play based on my skills I had learned in the Suzuki program. I was able to learn Chopin, my favorite composer of all time. :) I also was able to compete in piano competitions and one concerto competition for the GR Youth Symphony. I know for a fact that I wouldn't have been able to get to that level without the proper training that I received with the Suzuki program.
